Tackle Life With Confidence, Put In The Effort And Achieve More

How do you tackle the challenge of change, decision making and life itself?

What can stop us? What can get in our way? Ourselves, our situation, our resources, our time. Many things.

And the effort we put in and how we do that. Do we go in full force and capture our target, or are we more circumspect, or somewhere in between?

What do we need to tackle? What things should we consider?

  • do we have the wherewithal to carry this through? A big question and the answer is . . . Sure we do. We have met challenges before and we will meet them again. Some are more testing than others. But we get through. We don't just get by, we prosper.
  • do we dare? Do we have the courage of our convictions? Sooner or later we need to stand up and be counted for ourselves, what we believe in, what we stand for - why not start right now?
  • do we really care? If we don't then that is our loss. But we do, we may not admit it or find it easy to admit to ourselves, let along other people, but we do care. Deep down we care. We just need to start to feel that more and exhibit it in our daily life.
  • what is the opposition - is it other people, situations, ourselves? Who is our greatest critic? Who should be our greatest supporter? Yes, that's right - you
  • what is the task, or does it matter. It helps when it matters, when we feel something for the task and the outcome as it helps to bring out the best in us.
  • is time important? Sometimes, other times we have all the time in the world, or so it seems. Some things are time dependent so they can be more crucial as to when they are performed. But we need remember that we have only 24 hours in a day and need to use our time wisely and well
  • when should we start? We can really think and analyze the task ahead, or give it a quick assessment and get stuck in. Remembering that we are not evolved enough (as yet!) to be able to think something into reality, so we know that without some effort and action nothing will really be achieved
  • will we know when we finish? Will we ever finish? Where is the start, or is it a blur? The finish of one thing may merge into the start (or the middle) of the next. We should remember to reward ourselves in relation to the task performed, which will help encourage us to continue along our path in life.

What will we need to do to achieve our goal - tackling change. And what effort might be involved? How do we tackle things?

A few questions to focus the mind:

  • will it all be a huge challenge - too much to tackle?
  • are we fit and healthy?
  • are we ready for action?
  • can we persevere and persist?
  • what hurdles may we meet?
  • what are the options?
  • what resources do we have?
  • can we sustain?
  • is the venture a timely one?
  • do we have the resources?

can we tackle the task ahead - can we do ourselves proud?

And we need to know why we are making this effort or tackling our task. What are the rewards or the prize? Does it really mean something to us? What will it really achieve?

And after we make our effort we need to reassess and reflect, and learn and grow. Then next time we find we are a little better prepared than before, and the task will seem that little bit easier.

Bring it on!
