To Be Self Centered Is To Miss The Point
Do not cultivate a self centered nature. A selfish nature? Why is that? If our focus is just on ourselves - We isolate ourselves from others
- We start to only think about what we want, and find it hard to relate to the needs and concerns of others
- We may wonder why people tend to avoid us
Self love is one thing and actually a very important aspect of our lives. To respect ourselves and accept what we do, how we are and our contribution to life. Being happy in one's own company. But it can all be taken too far. You become the center of your universe - but all for the wrong reasons. Be aware of the trap. Beware of becoming the person described in the next few sentences. - You want everything to go your way
- You are unwilling to accept either advice or support
- You are self absorbed to an unnatural degree
- You may be vain and narcissistic
- You are self seeking and envious of others efforts
- You are possessive and selfish
Be aware of the trap. What we really want is to find ourselves. To explore. To find out more about ourselves. To realize our inner strength. But take that path too far and lest you lose your self and think of nothing else. Seems great to start with. But once in its clutches it can be hard to extricate yourself.
