Progress is what we all want to make
in whatever pursuit we will take,
and the necessary action to see the job done
and then onto the next - even before the last is gone.

Sometimes this progress is seen as development,
other times as a little more than a subtle improvement,
but whatever we do we want to advance,
but don't want to leave anything to chance

For that might take away our responsibility
when all the time we wish to be free
of constraint and stress and do more
along our road in life we'd like to mature

Into the person we have always wanted to be,
seeing life as a journey might be the key,
so that though each episode may be important
life as a whole may show us to be a student

Learning and growing and developing each day
making decisions, progression well under way
on our road to the best life we can achieve,
but at times life can show us to be a little naive

But this is something we can quickly overcome
with practice we can a better person become
making headway in the decisions of life so we gain
more experience, greater productivity - no need to abstain

From any part of our life however difficult,
breakthroughs come from unexpected quarters as a result
of our efforts and making the right decisions
greater success not in single figures, but in dozens

Of ways, and we can see light at the end of our passage
our life can really blossom and take advantage
of the opportunities that each day to us present
to test, to cajole, but also to represent

How our life really seems to be changing
our progress is seen to be ongoing,
ever onward and ever upward we can go
from friends and others we can borrow

Wisdom in the light of our collective experience,
we look ahead to the future and see its brilliance,
for the way ahead is becoming somewhat more clear
and the route, the path, the way does appear

Through the mists of life it surely does come
beckoning to us to join it and accept its awesome
presence in our life and within
the love of life, the joy causes a grin

To appear on our face from ear to ear
as we see life coming together things become so clear,
what we can gain from life - oh what a pleasure
as we grow and enjoy life in equal measure.
