Getting Priority Right In Life Demands Respect And Flexibility

Is changing yourself a priority?

That would depend you might say? If you are happy with what you have got, why bother? If not, how do you decide what to do and when to do it?

Whatever our situation we all decide the relative importance of things every day. And each moment of each day. We are experts really - we just don't view ourselves as such.

And then put our effort in what seems important, most important, now. This may change as time goes on, then we reassess and go from there.

Is it really that simple? Yes and no, of course!

But we do tend to make these things more complicated than we need, in our quest to get things right. We don't want to make a mistake do we?

And what seems a priority for one person is low down the list for another. So where does that leave us?

Do we just have to do our own thing? Yes. Is that a challenge - yes. Is that daunting - can be. Can we do it - yes, but we have to believe in ourselves.

So much of life comes down to how we think. To how we feel about ourselves. Having a good positive attitude to life is a great start. Put some effort in and wow! Just see what can happen.

To put that effort in we do need to have some respect for ourselves and for life. We need to develop and maintain a healthy self respect. Our image and esteem need to be in synch with our life and our confident view of life.

This engenders confidence. We can be confident in our abilities. We feel moved to act and accomplish those things we need to do. And one thing leads to another.

Motivation abounds. Success is felt. Satisfaction and contentment come our way. And we find that self development is not just rewarding but exciting and character building, too.

With this comes awareness. Greater perception of what is important in our life. We can then more easily set priorities for the tasks and projects that we are involved in. And off we go.

And if the situation changes we can feel confident about changing our mind. Changing the order that we do things, or the way we do them.

Keeping to the original order come what may will lead to rigid and unreliable results - except where everything is plain sailing. In the real world we need to be flexible.

And we need to trust that we will be able to meet the challenges and overcome the hurdles that we meet along the way. And find that we grow and prosper, develop and benefit from the obstacles that we meet and tackle.

Do I need to worry, I have all the time in the world. You may, but time is not under our control and goes by quickly. And anyway we need to be doing the right thing, at the right time and in the right way - to get the most our of life.

Setting a priority is not difficult. Altering it as circumstances demand can naturally follow. If we learn to bend in the winds of life like a tall Spruce tree, then we will be able to meet and tackle and conquer and assimilate on our path or journey in and through life.

Take those steps you know you need to make today. You will not regret it.
