Persistence Is A Great Asset When Used In The Right Way
Persistence is a winner. Many things are completed by keeping going. Not accepting no for an answer. Not accepting a hurdle is a no. Not being put off by the winds of life. Not being dissuaded from following a hunch or our instincts. Determination is such a great quality to have. Do we all have it or do we need learn that we have it or start from scratch - who knows? Perhaps we can see others achieving things after we have given up the ghost and admiring them for it. And them telling us that we could do the same. And do we believe them? Perhaps if we did and tried that little bit harder next time - then we would find out for ourselves. Having the resolve to maintain our effort in the face of ridicule and dissent, doubts and confusion is another important quality we would do well to cultivate and use. And see how much more we can accomplish by so doing. Pluck and grit are maybe old fashioned words but are so descriptive. Basic courage in the sight of hurdles and obstructions. We may be tired. We may be dispirited. We may be at the end of our tether, but . . . And it is that but that can distinguish us from all those who do give up at the first (second or third or fourth) sign of trouble or hindrance. Persistence. That ability, no that part of character that does not accept no for an answer. And goes on beyond. Beyond what seemed reasonable to ask of us just a few moments ago. Beyond what we would expect of ourselves. That is pluck and grit for you. And we can find that stamina and endurance within ourselves. And when we do something happens. We feel an energy and fresh resolve within ourselves. Something changes within us. It is illusory to try to describe it or to try to pin it down. But it is there nonetheless. And it can see us through. It gives us the tenacity, the due diligence to continue. The energy to fuel the effort and the abilities to use our strengths and talents in such a way that progress is made - where stagnation or slow movement was present only moments earlier. This steadfastness and tirelessness is not always available to us. But at times, when our task warrants it and the cause is good, then we can seem to tap into something extra within us. We can seem to somehow plug ourselves into a new power source and find renewed energy. Somehow tackle the task with refreshed mind and body. Recharged with those qualities required to get the job done. With determination. With new insight. With new awareness. With a simple knowledge that we can now move on forward and succeed. And we do. And we may look back later on this time.. And see that something special has occurred. We were blessed with something or just blessed. Utilizing persistence and the unachievable was achieved. The unresolvable was resolved. The impossible was made possible. And we can look back with gratitude and appreciation for what has occurred. And life has managed to surprise us once again.
