Your Mission Has A Special Place In Your Heart - Discover It, Nurture It, Pursue It

Do you have a mission in life? Do you feel you have a calling?

It does not matter what it might be because it is yours. Not your neighbors, friend, lover or partner, but yours.

Do you have a life assignment? Perhaps you have not met it yet. Perhaps it is slowly dawning on you what you should really be doing. Give yourself time and all will become clearer. And you will find your mission.

Is life just a job for you or a vocation or is it a bit more? Do you act out of obligation or out of real need and feeling? Do you feel that you are making a difference or wasting your time? Are you using your talents and abilities or do you leave them at home each day?

Sure we have to earn a living, but it should be beneficial for us, too. Our heart should be in it. We should feel comfortable with what we are doing, if not we should seriously question our endeavor.

Only we can know how we feel. But it is important to give ourselves the time and space to understand how we feel. At times we may not have much choice, but if a new possibility or opportunity arises, a chance to get out or move on, then we should take it with open hands - if we feel inclined to do so.

Life should be full of joy and satisfaction. Not that we should be laughing and joking, experiencing rapturous joy all the time - that may be a drug experience and not reality.

But we should not feel that we are suffering. Pressures and tensions are there in life, but not to the extent that we lose ourselves in them, and lose our way in life.

Life can be hard work at times, but there needs to be lightness, fun and joy each day - otherwise what are we really doing or achieving? We may have the money or the wealth, the fame and the glory, but if we have this at the expense of simple pleasures then something may be seriously wrong.

Do you know your journey or path or do you not have the faintest idea about what this might be, and why should I be bringing it up? And what is this mission thing anyway?

I definitely feel that we all have our own path in life. The steps that only we can take, the things only we can in do in our way, in our time, for our reasons.

And we need to be friends with ourselves. We need to know ourselves and be at ease with ourselves. We need to accept and respect ourselves.

From this can come the real action and real direction in life. Know thyself is often written about. But that is what we should have in our own life. Knowing ourself. And a lot more of it!

From this knowing and experience, we can feel our way through. Through our mishmash of experiences, talents, strengths, feelings and so on, something will come through. Your mission can appear . . .

We will have this feeling, that can come and go, that can strengthen over time, that we should be doing 'X'.

We may start and then leave it behind. But it seems to be there in the background. Just waiting for us to return to it. To give it credence and the time of day. It may have some power, but we give it power by our attention, by our need, by our dedication to this thing, this mission of ours.

It may in time seem to take on a life of its own, but with us at the helm. It is a wonderful experience to really feel that you are doing, amidst the rest of life, what you really should be doing. As you tackle your life mission.

Giving and contributing in your own way, in the way only you can.

If we are patient with life and ourselves this can happen for each of us. We can make our small mark on life and build our own legacy. Do our own thing for the greater good.

And the world will be a better place for our attempts and effort.

The crying shame is if we ignore it or recognize it and don't carry it through.

Don't leave the song unsung within you. You have your place.

Capture the moment for yourself.
