Individuality Is Key To What You Can Do In Life

To exhibit individuality is to be noticeable and interesting and unlike others, according to one of my smaller dictionaries. Does this describe us?

Do we have these claims to fame, or are they just our right as human beings?

Are we not distinctive and different in our own unique and interesting ways? In that way we are characterful and special and our own person . . .

We are mortal, but we have heart and soul, feelings and thoughts, experiences and ... so much more.

What does individuality bring to the table for us? Our own viewpoints and angles on life. Built up over time and the benefit of different and varied situations and circumstances. And are we not the better for that?

But with this can come doubts and uncertainties.

Silly questions and serious ones. Are we doing alright compared with X or Y? How do other people view us?

Lots of stuff that we can mull over and think about. At times we can question ourselves. We can look at our part in this big, wide world.

At times we can question and wonder about life itself, and what we are doing with it. We think about what is really happening in our life.

The power of words . . .

We can let ourselves open to the thoughts and their meanings, the ideas and their origin, the phrases and the understandings that they have ready for us.

I hope this individuality page will do this and more. I hope these individuality examples will help to express life in an insightful, penetrating but easy to read manner. And help us to question the lives we lead and the manner in which we live them.

You are special and I am too
we have individuality, that's not an issue
be yourself, let your character come through
you'll then really live - you know it's true

I am a person and not a number
I am not a prisoner to my fate
I'm an individual like no other
I'm me, myself, and no makeweight

I know where I want to go
I have my successes and take a bow
but there are more important life aspects
so much to do, to see, and that reflects

The life I have ahead of me
I am like you a person, so let me be
the person I am and what I portray
you cannot dissuade me now go away

And be with yourself and leave me be
you are you and that I respect
to experience life like it is for me
let me be me I'm quite distinct

My character is wholly my own
a result of my life that I have sown
and now reap the benefits and the joy
I aim to please and not annoy

You by my actions well thought out
you may disagree but please don't flout
your opinions here, to you they may be valuable
just don't overrun me I am just as able

As you, in my own sweet ways
giving for me is standard not a craze
live a life wholesome I do say
give of your best and enjoy your life today

I am me and quite unique
I may be old but no antique
I have much to offer if you only knew
don't right me off just because I'm not you

I like to think I am independent
of mind and thought and use my judgment
when appropriate to help decide things not confront
you or others when the situation does warrant

Action on my part and not just lay dormant
an active member of life and no figment
of any imagination, yes of life I'm an entrant
give me the benefit of being present

To speak forth and not just be silent
for I will respect your feelings, not just be blunt
I want the best for us I'm no tyrant
I am your best friend, don't treat me like a client

How can we be original
express ourselves and not be boastful
for others will soon know when it's not true
and wait for you this barrier to breakthrough
on your march through life just to find and be you
always live to the full for life you'll never outgrow

All best,
Martin
