Live A Life Of Honesty And Receive Life's Rewards
Honesty is the best policy or so we are told. Do we buy into that? Is this one of our better traits? But not only in relation to goods but also with other people and ourselves? How well do we stack up? - To live with integrity and good virtue.
- To be honorable in our acts and thoughts.
- To live life faithfully by a well examined and evaluated set of principles and values.
Or - To be truthful but not economical with the truth.
- To be frank and straight in what we do and say, with no thought nor room for deceit.
- To be sincere and open and not self centered and hiding our thoughts, motives and actions from friend or foe. To be genuine and straightforward and above reproach.
High ideals I hear you say. Yes, but is not this chance at life worthy of our doing our best. Being above petty actions and retaliation. Looking out for others and helping when the need or opportunity arises. Is this life of honesty all so difficult? But few, if any, of us are saints, nor try to be. At times we can question ourselves and life, and find it hard or difficult to act with total integrity. At times we can question and wonder about life itself, and our part within it. The power of words . . . We can let ourselves open to the thoughts and their meanings, the ideas and their origin, the phrases and the understandings that they have ready for us. Ready for us to assimilate and take on board. I hope this honesty page will do this and more. I hope these examples of honesty verse will help to express life in an insightful, penetrating but easy to read manner. And help us to question the lives we lead and the manner in which we live them. Honesty is inspiring like few other things being truthful in word and our affairs should not be a part of any window dressings if it is to be real, worthwhile and compares With our highest effort in thought, word and deed shines through in life and even when our guard is down for then it becomes something worthy indeed and not a passing phase or a real letdown For then we will be seen for the imposter we are not fulfilling our promise and leaving a bad taste rather than being trustworthy, ethical and not bar ourselves by disappointment and sheer waste Of doing our best in each circumstance being honorable and virtuous in our acts and avoid leading everyone a merry dance transparent, open, taking in all the relevant facts A life of integrity and decency is one to be proud of in our actions and contributions in what we do and end each day happy, content and unbowed having confidence in a productive life we do pursue.
We all like an honest Joe someone who does in fact bestow honorable actions, it is what they do as clear and inspiring as the early morning dew Which as it must bring the onset of a new day our wish to be frank, open, sincere all through today with ourselves in our thoughts and in our actions and with others make real and valuable contributions To life as a whole and in our surround lets be open, above board and not go to ground and not be accused of hiding away avoiding decisions, offering a poor display Of our talents and values and of our virtue hidden away, not shine and not be on cue for then we are not living but a half of what we are leaving much at home hardly makes us a real star And it will quickly be seen we are not pulling our weight not contributing well to life which could deflate our whole experience, and lessen others thoughts of us our integrity in question is no means to success We need to react quickly to avoid this scenario use honesty with ourselves and be worthy to follow in the footsteps of all others who are honest and true turn our life round and seek to make a real breakthrough For this is possible though we may need assistance though better if we manage ourselves in this instance for more is learned and growth enhances our life, we have it all, no need of extras. All best, Martin
