Change Can Transform Your Life - Do Not Try To Stand In Its Way
The challenge of change - can we befriend it? Can we ignore it? Can we succeed without it? Life is for living. Success and failure. Good and bad. Left and right. Right and wrong. The opposites (and the in-betweens) are all there for us in life. But how are we to deal with them, how are we to progress? Can we alter our approach to life? Or are we stuck in our ways and will not budge? That cannot be a very healthy attitude, can it? Can we modify what we have always done? How easy is that?
Can we learn to change? Is it something to learn or something to let go too? There are many angles to look at when considering change: - Is innovation your thing? Are you a creature of invention who likes to push the boundaries? Or someone who likes to conform and keep your head down?
- Is variety a good thing? I certainly like to do different things, it keeps life fresh for me. I don't suppose you are much different.
- A break with tradition - doing something new. Pushing the boat out, as we say. This can be a new and exciting venture, or just doing something a different way. Like shaving your face (if you're a fella) left side first rather than right. Strange at first but soon can become the norm - if you want it too.
- Where does my comfort zone fit in? We all know when and where we feel comfortable and where we do not. The adventurous (some would say brave) push those limits all the time, and in more and more dangerous and testing ways at times, too. But we can do things in a much more ordered and quiet way, if we so wish. Just speak to that person who always parks their car next to yours each day - that you have never yet spoken too. You don't know if you don't try.
- Can I exchange my life for another - what like 'A Tale of Two Cities'? Unlikely, eh! But we can see around us things we would like to do. At times we just have to get off our butt and do them. And then carry on with this new (possibly more exciting) persona.
- Can I really transform my life? Yes, of course - if you really want too. But it will take effort, hard work and graft. A real commitment and dedication. Determination and staying power. But yes. you can - and many have done so before you, so you know it is possible.
Do I need to follow the crowd? Only if you want to. Do your own thing if you want. Where it does not interfere or encroach on others (and we would not like the same done to us in return) - go ahead. What other aspects of change could I consider? - I need to look at what I am doing and how I am doing it. Can I improve or adapt my approach? What have I learned and can now change?
- I have skills and talents, I need to make the most of them and use them to good effect. And develop new ones and hone old(er) ones.
- Can I create a new me? That big money question. Yes you can or are you finding out that there is a new person within trying to get out, but you are now allowing yourself to be that person you always wanted to be?
Change can be a case of out with the old and in with the new. Let us feel happy to lose those aspects that are past their sell by date, and encourage new growth and development. Does it make any difference anyway? Sure it does and why not? Do not be afraid to raise your eyes to new horizons and stretch yourself. It may seem strange and difficult at first, but you will soon get used to it. And once started, who knows . . . You just need to know and remember that you can grow and develop and evolve. You have every reason to do so. You have an exciting life ahead of you. All you have to do is to reach out with sincerity and effort and claim it. Do not try to do this - just do it and see what wonders happen for you . . .
