Harness And Use Your Ability - Decision Making Can Be One Of Your Life Skills

I think we can all agree that ability must affect our decision making. It's a cinch is it not? We all have potential but do we realize it? Do we work towards that or do we expect it to fall in our laps? Or do we feel we cannot decide, cannot move forward, do not know what to do? If you feel any of those things read on . . .

We have skills and capability and we do know it, don't we? There are many decisions we end up making in life and getting the most out of ourselves and what we do should be high on our priority list. Start to make a difference in your life today.

In life do we realize that we all have capabilities and can use them to our advantage and the advantage of those around us? And what do we have to do - use them that's what we have to do.

When it comes down to being successful then our skills and potential must be taken into account. Is that really the case? Are we kidding ourselves?

But is success and enjoying life just a matter of ability or something more? If it was only down to the ability, skills and talents that life has given us, there would be many of us who would lead ordinary lives missing out on the excitement, enjoyment and satisfaction that we presently enjoy.

And why is that? Simply because all the other gifts that we're being given, and the expertise that we have developed would be serving no real purpose.

In many ways life is far more than the summation of its parts and I feel that we all realize that. It's just sometimes we tend to forget or overlook these elements of our lives.

I always remember the Peter Sellers movie called 'Being There'. I watched this movie the first time not expecting a great deal and in fact thinking that it would be a great waste of time. I was very much surprised that this simple story proceeded to move me greatly. [If you ever get the chance I would thoroughly recommend a viewing - you might well be very pleasantly surprised at the depth of the story and how it might affect you.]

Somehow the simple gardener, played by Peter sellers, managed to become president of the United States. In many ways he was not gifted and yet he knew many simple things. He was a simple gardener and you put those principles of growth and development, which previously he had used in his garden, too very good use.

The simple gardener use simple principles and rules that he saw in nature to help him answer complex presidential type questions with a simplicity most of us could only look on and wonder at.

Okay this was a story, but the way it moves the viewer was simple and profound. An inspiring example. Just what can we make of our own lives? What could be our vision?

So when it comes down to life we all do know that keeping things simple is often the best policy. We all have talents and skills and abilities, each in his own way, and values for his own or her own use.

If someone says that you have no ability frankly do not believe them. You may not be clever like a Einstein or Da Vinci , or artistic like Michelangelo, or have the intellect of Bertrand Russell, but does that really matter. No!

We each in our own way have developed ourselves in life. We've met met success and failure in our time and soldiered on. We have met challenges and obstacles and hurdles to reach the life that we have today.

We each, in our own way, are stars. In our own way we are heroes. Maybe we are not saints but we give of ourselves, each and every day, often small ways to help one another get through each day.

If we realized the impact and influence that we had on those around us we might need a box of tissues. In the same way that our friends, loved ones and work colleagues help us and move us, we in our own turn to do the same for them.

On these pages will be looking at the ability that we bring to life's table and see how we can make the most of them.

What will we be looking at on these pages?

What questions might we ask?

Hope you enjoy these ability pages and get what you need from them. Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts, comments, ideas or suggestions.

All best,Martin
