A Consistent Basis Is The Sign Of A Disciplined Person

A consistent basis to life. That is what we all code do with, right.

But what can this mean to us anyway?

  • being steady and regular in what we do
  • being even and constant in what we do
  • being persistent until the job is done
  • adopting a good approach to what you do

So you can help yourself then?

Of course. As always, we have an important part to play in what we do and how we do it.

  • we need to start anything from firm foundations
  • we need to know what we need to do
  • we need to assess the different options
  • we need to see the benefits and the downsides
  • we need to plan ahead
  • we need to know we have the resources available for the task ahead
  • we need to know we can commit to what we need to do

And

  • we will need determination
  • we will need discipline
  • we will need to manage our time and efforts
  • we will need to know the timeframe for our efforts and task
  • we will need to be flexible if obstacles occur on our path

And to get started

  • it would be good to see the way ahead
  • to be confident we can pull it off
  • we have the help around should we need it
  • we are into the task ahead
  • be clear about our role and responsibilities

And avoid

  • doubts and confusions about what we need to do
  • road blocks put up by others to hinder our (rightful) progress
  • a negative attitude that may take the wind out of our sails
  • not thinking ourselves worthy of this accomplishment

And we should

  • start at the beginning and not half way through
  • believe that we can accomplish our task
  • know that we have the wherewithal to succeed
  • enjoy the journey to our destination
  • be consistent in our efforts

And then set our sights on our next project or change - and give ourselves a well earned rest in between (but only in relation to the level of the task achieved and the effort applied).
